On this occasion, the X Professional Open 2006 got together professionals and amateurs invited to participate to the first category, coming from all the Canary Islands.
Once finalized the Professional Open, took place the Pro Am 18th Tournament at Golf del Sur, with 88 assistants playing on two best balls medal play modality contending for the prizes for the first three teams. There were also special prizes such as the nearest ball to the flag and the longest drive, and gifts given in a raffle during the prize-giving lunch. The competitions players found the golf course in wonderful conditions for playing, seeing all the improvements made at Golf del Sur since the Galindo Group bought it, and especially the new Links, renewed by Manuel Piñero (Target Ingenieros) , last 2005, which turned Golf del Sur into the first Golf Course in the Canary Islands with 3 competition courses offering interesting rounds where your attention will be caught by the volcanic black sand bunkers, the huge greens, the wide and wave fairways and the difficulty created by the two water hazards on the 3º, 4º and 5º holes of the Links Course.
